Acer Ferrari F-20 monitor on NVIDIA GeForce 6610 XL grafic card. The sound is fine in tv mode. But there is no sound when I use it with the computer. The speaker icon on the taskbar says "no speaker or headphones are plugged in.
The monitor is wired to the pc with a DVI cable.

If the only cable connected between the monitor and the PC is a DVI cable, you will not get sound. DVI only carries a video signal. You will need to get an audio cable between the speaker port on the PC and monitor.

Make sure speakers are the default playback device in Windows. I am assuming you have windows 7. http://www.7tutorials.com/how-change-default-playback-recording-audio-device
