The machine is a Dell Inspiron 660 running Windows 8.1 with all updates applied - which seems to be the problem.

After the last major update, MSIE just stopped working.  You can click on the icon, it flashes, but then dims out without starting the browser.  While I use Firefox, my wife likes Internet Explorer and would like it back.  I've tried to uninstall the updates, but that has failed as well.  Any suggestions?

TIA, Paul

What version of IE are you using. There have been bugs in IE11 and a lot of users have rolled back to IE10.
