I have recently discovered that I do not have the Ethernet controller driver installed on my system and wondering if I actually do need this. Also samsung remote support failed to resolve this problem. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Click on the Start orb, then type devmgmt.msc in the Search programs and files box press Enter.

When the Device Manager and see if there is a yellow warning or a red error icon in the Network Adapters.

If there is a warning or error the tree for the Network Adapter will already be expanded and the warning or error icon will be seen with the adapter.  Please post what adapter is shown.

My network adapter is Broadcom 802.11n but I see no warning error there. But the Ethernet driver is still saying it needs updating.

If you click on the Driver tab you will see the option to update the driver.  Try this.

Sorry about the late reply. Yes I tried that and it says Windows was unable to find the driver for your device, while both searching the computer and online for solutions.

Than you both of you. I managed to get the driver from the manufacturer's site and it no longer needs updating. Thanks.

It's running just like it was before and the difference is that all drivers are now updated.
