Hi, Welcome

As I see it regarding Windows 7 or 8, It doesn't matter as they both are reliable in my experience.

If I had either one, which I do, I would not waste a penny changing them.

I suggest You post in the appropriate forum for more information and help.

Enjoy the Site

Roger

Roger, Thank you for your response.  I appreciate all the help I can get.  I was just released from the hospital yesterday after going through major back surgery.  Doc has alloted me only so much time out of bed and I have to take advantage it as it isn't long.  Also, I am 65 years old.  Saw the write up about "Bleeping Computer", scanned some of the Q&A and was impressed so I figured might be a good sight to join.  I've had a little experience with Windows 8, which seems to be designed more for cell phones, I-Pods etc.  I don't like the format and find it more confusing than anything.  Windows 7 appears to be closer to XP which I think is just fine.  You mentioned posting on the appropriate form which I would like to do.  What is the appropriate forum?  Thanks for your help.  I think you guys are doing all of us a great service.  As another individual said, he is being nickled and dimed to death by techies.  It happened to me.  Thanks:  Terry

Hi, I hope all works out OK with Your back.

This would be the forum for

Windows 8

Use this forum to discuss, ask questions, and give answers for Microsoft's Windows 8 operating system.

and this one for questions on

Windows 7

Use this forum to discuss, ask questions, and give answers for the Windows 7 operating system from Microsoft.

For what its worth I use Windows 8 everyday on this desktop computer with no touch screen. I use a program called Classic Shell which makes it work like a improved Windows 7.

If You go there You can see what changes it makes to the Interface.

Good Luck

Roger
