Hey just bought a Dell Win 8 Inspiron 15...a few months ago.  Been having some troubles...here are my symptoms:

I get a "Checking Media [Fail]" every time I boot up

Occasional "No boot device found. Press any key to restart" messages after the "Checking Media [Fail]" messages

Blue screens.  Have gotten "Critical Process Died" and also "Kernel Data Inpage Error"

Random computer freezes.

Assuming it's best to send this PC to tech support for a fix but want to know what to be able to tell them what the problem is.

Suspecting a hard drive failure but can someone please confirm?

Yep, that does sound like a failing hard drive. Recommend contacting Dell.

Hi, Since it is a Dell try this test.

When the Dell Logo appears on the screen start pressing F12

That will bring You to the Boot Device menu. Then from there choose Diagnostics and within Diagnostics do the Hard Drive test.

If it fails the diagnostics, record the error number to give to support.

Good Luck

Roger
