Green circle on my icons

Hi, I'm not sure if the is a virus or something else. Running Windows 7, All of a sudden a Green circle appears on several Icons, Files, Photos... Not sure why.

I checked to see if I downloaded something in the control panel, programs, found nothing, I ran Malware and  scanned with Bitdefender. and cc cleaner.

Im not sure how to down load a photo, so my avitar is a sample of what I have

Hello, if you are using Carbonite backup it may place a Green dot on an icon as a status reference or indicator of backup.

Good thought, but no, I even ran a search for Carbonite.
The PC seems to be running OK, This just bugs the heck out of me..

Good Help, Though it wasn't Carbonite, It was Del back up, im not sure how it got turned on but once it was shut off, all those mystery green circles went away.. you got me going in the right direction.

Thanks for the info, perhaps it's just about any back up app and not just Carbonite or Dell. ??
