I am running MS word 2000. Can't afford a newer version.

on XP

Can't open any word file any more.

Error message.

Event viewer records:

Net runtime optimizer error 1111

application error 1000

win mgmt error 5603

service control errors 7026 and 7000

These errors go back a couple of years. I had an occasional error message shutdown, mostly, I think, if I hit some buttons twice or something like that, but not a problem.

Not using internet on that computer.

I do download some files from newer word versions via flash drive. Do they cause conflict?
