I have 69 Windows Updates waiting to be installed, but the installation keeps failing.  When I boot up the PC (running Windows 7) the updates start installing automatically.  I get the "Configuring Windows Updates.." message.  This continues until the percentage hits 15%, then after a while I get "Failure configuring Windows updates...Reverting Changes".

The PC shuts down and restarts, but the updates aren't installed.

Any advice?

Before you start,.... is your computer behaving as it should in every other way......not strange behavior from your browser......url's redirecting etc etc?

If there is any unusual behavior apart from the Windows Updates issue....Let Me Know BEFORE you run this tool

An up to date backup is also an excellent idea.

(The following tool will create a Restore point and also a Registry backup )

Download Windows Repair All in One from HERE

There is a good instruction page HERE for you to follow

You can leave the default options ticked.

Let me know if this works for you.

Thanks for the advice.  I downloaded and ran Windows Repair All in One.  After re-booting the Windows updates installed successfully, so all seems well.  I appreciate your help.
