An AVG tuneup had caused my Advent laptop to freeze at 27% complete. None of the keys work! I have a final uni paper due in tomorrow and need my laptop working today. Can anyone help?

Try pressing CRTL+SHIFT+ESC or CRTL+ALT+DELETE to bring up task manager and end the avg process. If that does not work do a hard reset by holding down the power button until it shutdowns, then restart

It seems that if the AVG tuneup stalls it typically will be at 27%.  It is suggested that this is normal and could take up to an hour to continue.  You can read AVG's comments on this.

I would suggest not forcing the shut down of this computer as it could create potentially harmful results.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
