USB Write protection

Write Protection is showing on my 4 GB San-disk Pen-drive. Now how can i remove Write Protection or Format the pendrive? i have tried to format through regedit or Dos prompt , but it was not able to removed.

This is an know issue with Sandisk Flash Drives. If the drive detects an internal error, the firmware changes the drive to read only and nothing can change it. If it is still within the warranty period, call  Sandisk for a replacement.
