Good morning!  I recently pulled an old laptop out of storage that I want to start using again.  It's been about 4 years (maybe longer!) since it's been used.  I'd like to be able to update IE and add Google Chrome.  Last night, I was able to add it to my home network and get online with my regular cable hookup.  This morning, whenever I start an update or download, it says it cannot complete dial-up.  I'm stumped!  Can anyone help?  I appreciate any help given.

It sounds like your laptop is trying to access the internet using a dialup modem.  Did you change any settings in IE properties?  Your PC should be trying to connect through your home network --- have you tried connecting the laptop directly to one of the ports on your router?

Post the exact wording of any error messages, please...and the circumstances when such occur.
