Homepage Problem

Hi all

My homepage is locked to www.securitybulletin.net/
It also states that my computer is infected and subject to attack!

I cannot change my homepage to one I prefer eg yahoo.

Help, I think my computer is infected with a virus and I am posting the following logfile.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Please download Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to your desktop.
  • Close all windows before continuing.
  • Double-click Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to run it.
  • Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
  • You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Destroyer will close and re-open in approximately 10 seconds. Click OK
  • When Look2Me-Destroyer re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
  • You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
  • When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Destroyer will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
  • Your computer will then shutdown.
  • Turn your computer back on.
  • Please post the contents of C:\Look2Me-Destroyer.txt later.
NOTES:
  • If you receive a message from your firewall about this program accessing the internet please allow it.
  • If you receive a runtime error '339' please download MSWINSCK.OCX from this link and place it in your C:\Windows\System32 Directory.

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
  • Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.
  • Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
  • Select option #1 - Search by typing 1, and press Enter.
  • A text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
  • Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.
NOTES :
  • process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes.
  • Do not run the other options of this tool yet until you are asked to do so.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I have ran the look 2 me scan but cannot locate the scan log on my computer.

I also cannot locate the scan log for the smitfraudfix.

Any advice or help would be appreciated. Should the scan log appear automatically or is it stored in a folder somewhere?

Hey Joe,

Jag11 had to leave unexpectedly for awhile so I'll be helping you.

Those logs should be in your root folder C:\. It doesn't really look like a folder, but you can get to it by clicking on My Computer and then double clicking on the hard drive icon (local disk). Actually it's easier to hold down your Windows key and press E. Either way the window that opens up will be your root folder C:\. This is what is meant by
C:\Look2Me-Destroyer.txt
C:\rapport.tx

So look in that Window you just opened and post the content of these files:

Look2Me-Destroyer.txt
rapport.tx


Along with a new HijackThis log. :thumbsup:
