amd drivers have stopped responding and blue screens

Ok, so during my gaming sessions,i sometimes(very often in the last couple of weeks) get the message that my display drivers have stopped responding and recovered or i get a blue screen. Also,yesterday something else happened , the screen just froze and it stayed like that until i restarted the pc manually. So,these are the tests i've done so far, memtest came out clean , i waited for 3 passes....I've been monitoring my temps and my graphics card is not over 53-55 when gaming.My cpu on the other hand i've been a little worried about, idle temp for the cores is 30 something to forty something... I've done a cpu stress test but i got worried when i saw the temperature going to 68 and i didnt let it go on.

I did a gpu stress test and everytime i get the same things as i do while gaming. Either there's a ''graphics driver stopped responding'' message , a blue screen, or a frozen screen. So,here are my system specs:
OS: Windows 7 service pack 1 / 64 bit

cpu:intel i5-3570

gpu: amd radeon 7850 (gigabyte)
mobo: gigabyte p75-d3

psu: cooler master 600w

The blue screen always has a 0xa0000001 code. I've been using bsod viewer and it seems to be blaming the atikmdag.sys driver.

Oh yeah,i forgot to add.... i've installed and reinstalled 6 or 7 different versions of the amd drivers and nothing has helped....

If you have not already done so: dust out the computer, all of the heat spreaders on the cpu and video card, dust out the psu etc. If stress testing continues to fail on the video card even when the temperature is in the safe operating zone, you may have a bad video card, bad psu (power problems), or a posible mainboard problem. If you have a different pci-e slot, you could move the card to a new slot and test again. I would personally test with a different video card as a first step if dusting the computer out or moving pci-e slots does not change anything.

Please download and install Speccy to provide us with information about your computer.  When  FileHippo opens, click on Download latest version in the upper right pane.
 
When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.

Click on File which is outlined in red in the screen above, and then click on Publish Snapshot.
 
The following screen will appear, click on Yes.

The following screen will appear, click on Copy to Clipboard.

In your next post right click inside the Reply to Topic box, then click on Paste.  This will load a link to the Speccy log.
 
 

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.
 
 Checkmark the following checkboxes:
 
• List last 10 Event Viewer log
• List Installed Programs
• List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
• List Minidump Files
 
 Click on Go to start the scan.  Once it is finished highlight the text, copy it and paste it in your next post.

Dont know why the software didnt find any minidumps..... I see 46 here...Is there some other way? Maybe i can zip them and attach them here or something...Let me know how you want me to send them or anything else,and thanks for trying to help me,i aprecciate it.

You have two AVs running, disable Windows Defender.

 

See if the repair outlined at the Steam website will resolve your issue.

But, you see,that's the only game i havent had the problem with,those 2 crashes were just cause the game servers were causing issues and i had to go into task manager to shut the game down. Most of the problems appear when i play dota 2 cause it's the game i play the most. The message as i said:
'amd display driver has stopped responding and has recovered' and the blue screens, frozen screens....In other games i experience sometimes the same,sometimes i get the blue screen while shutting down the game...I've been searching through steam forums and such but i havent found anyone linking the problem to the game.

I can only go by what is in the MiniToolBox log, and there are several references to this.  Just because this particular game isn't crashing does not mean that it can't be responsible for others crashing.

 

Did you disable the Windows Defender?  Running two antivirus programs can cause false positives and make your computer unstable.  It can even cause BSODs.

 

For testing purposes download Avast!, after you have downloaded this take the computer off line.  Uninstall Kaspersky and install Avast!.  If Kaspersky isn't causing problems you can reinstall it.

I dont use Kaspersky anymore,those logs were a little less than a year old. I use Avast now, and i have disabled the windows defender but the problem is still there. Also,just as i was typing this my computer restarted on its own, dont know what's going on,no blue screen this time though.

With the computer turned off press the power button and immediately start tapping the F8 key until you reach the Advanced Boot Options, Click on Disable auto restart on error.

 

Rerun the MiniToolBox and post the log.

Oh,looks like that was a mini power outage,nothing related to this...Thanks for all the help anyway,but tell me,is it likely that my graphics card is causing this issue or would a clean windows installation probably fix this?

If this was a power outage the computer shouldn't have turned back on after turning off.

 

Let's run the Startup Repair and see if it finds anything.  If you have the installation disc for this version of Windows skip part A and go to part B.

 

Instructions for a Windows 7 Repair installation.
 
A Windows 7 Repair Installation will require a installation disc.
 
If you do not have a Windows 7 installation disc you can download a free legal ISO image of Windows 7 SP1 at  Windows 7 Forums.  You will need to download the same version of Windows 7 that you have installed,  This image is hosted by the Digital River store which is an official distribution partner of Microsoft.  This is a genuine untouched image which is safe to download. 
 
Attention:  If you do have a Windows installation disc, skip Part A and go to Part B, Step 1b.
 
Part A, Steps 1a - 6a
 
How to burn ISO image using Windows Burn Disk Image.
 
Notice:  This applies only to Windows 7 and Windows 8, earlier versions do not have this.
 
1.  Place a blank CD or DVD in the tray of your optical drive and close the tray.
 
2.  After you have downloaded the ISO image you want to burn right click on the Start orb, then choose Windows Explorer.
 
3.  When Explorer opens click on Downloads in the left pane.  Scroll down till you find the ISO file you want and double click on it.  Click on Burn Disk Image.
 
4.  In the image below you will see Dick] burner:, this should be set to the optical drive you want to use.  Click on Verify disc after burning if you want to Windows to verity the disc image after burn.  Click on burn.

5.  In the image below you can see that the green progress bar, when the image is finished burning the bar will be filled.

6.  After the image has completed being burned click on Close
 
Please note:  In order to boot from this DVD you may need to change the boot order in the BIOS so that the CD/DVD-ROM is the first device in the boot order, and the hdd is the second device.
 
 
Part B, Steps 1b - 10b
 
1b)  Place the installation disc in the tray of the CD/DVD drive, close the tray and restart the computer.
 
2b)  You will be prompted to press any key to start the installation, I find the space bar handy.
 
At this point the setup process will load files, this will take several minutes.
 
3b)  You will now need to choose the  Language, Time, currency format, and Keyboard or input method that you'd like to use.
 
After this is done click on Next.

4b)  Click on the Repair your computer link at the bottom-left of the Install Windows window.
 
This link will begin the Windows 7 System Recovery Options.

5b)  System Recovery Options will now search your hard drive(s) for any Windows 7 installations.  This will take several minutes.
 
No participation is required on your part at this time, wait till it has finished and the next window opens.

6b)  Choose the Windows 7 installation that you'd like to perform the Startup Repair on, then click on Next

7b)  Click on the Startup Repair link from list of recovery tools in System Recovery Options.

For a future reference, there are several other diagnostic and recovery tools available in the Windows 7 System Recovery Options including System Restore, System Image Recovery, Windows Memory Diagnostic, and Command Prompt.
 
8b)  The Startup Repair tool will now search for problems in the system files.
 
If Startup Repair finds a problem with any system files the tool may suggest a solution which you will need to confirm, or may solve the problem automatically.

9b)  Startup Repair will now attempt to repair whatever problems it found with system files.  
 
Note:  If Startup Repair did not find any problems with system files you won't see this step.

Important: Your computer may or may not restart several times during this repair process.  This is normal, you should allow it to continue until you see the Restart your computer to complete the repairs window. 
 
10b)  Click on Finish, this will restart your computer.

It is possible that the Startup Repair will not be able to fix the problem.  If the Startup Repair tool determines this, it may automatically run the the repair after your computer restarts.  If it does not automatically run the repair but you are still having problems with Windows 7 repeat these steps to run Startup Repair again manually.

But i was sure it was only a power outage.It was only like a second in duration,i didnt have anything else on in the house so i couldnt tell but my neighbour later told me it was a very short power outage...You're saying that couldnt have been it?

If you unplug your computer while it is on it will shut down and will not restart unless you press the power key.  This is a desktop computer, so unless you are using an UPS the computer will shut down when it is unplugged.

I've looked around a bit,seems as though there's a setting in the bios that lets the pc reboot after shutting down from a power outage.
