Hello, I have been testing a lot of programs lately, such as bluestacks AndroidEmu, the root package for it, sandbox, cheat engine, along with other game hacking tools. I found a link to some source code i needed for making a .atpy to assist with blocking certain functions of xtrap for one of the games I play. I also had to download other source files that were released by a questionable individual, but was necessary for what i needed(The source files were legit but packed in a .rar which even though VirusTotal said it was safe, the symptoms started after i opened the .rar containing the decompiled source code/project along with the full compiled application.

It was a previous trainer that was outdated but would easily work if updated to the new gver and had an address update, which im learning about signature scanning atm, so i can just have it auto update with the game pretty much and not have to manually update.

Now that I have everything I need to update the trainer, I would like to get rid of the Malware/Adware I have picked up on this incredible journey.

====================================================================================================================================

Symptoms:

Random and annoying popups of Kona Kontera Adds. Computer is running slow, extremely slow for the make and model of this pc. It's iCore7 8gigs ram, there is no reason it should be moving this slow. Applications freeze and hang since popups started. This all happened this morning. So the infection is fairly new.

I could probably get rid of it myself, but I want to know that I got it all. I ran countless anti-virus scans and nothing popped up as infected. Everything seems normal, besides the popups, and the slow pc(which I believe is a keylogger or SS grabber/combination of both)causing the annoying interrupts, or worse im a botnet.

I used Avast 2014, and Kaspersky 2014 both came back clean.

I was going to download dds, combofix, UnHackMe, Junkware Removal Tool, AdWCleaner, Malware Bytes, etc. To try to remove it myself, but thought might as well see what the pro's say 1st.

====================================================================================================================================

I am running Windows 8 64b Build 9200

PS. Is there any free Registry Tool that hooks the api and shows all reg keys including super hidden etc? If so can you please post me a link to it. The standard windows reg edit sucks. Thank You in advance for you're time.

====================================================================================================================================

Thank you for helping me out with this. I'll wait a few days before I run any malware scanning utils, or until I hear back from staff here. Until then ill just do less invasive scanning like monitoring my traffic for unknown incoming/outgoing traffic. If I decide I have found the problem and believe I can take care of the issue, I will post back here to let staff know. If I do not post back it means I am patiently waiting for help.

Thanks guys and gals!!!

==================================================================================================================================== ok here is the dds log

====================================================== Edited =======================================================

Ok so I have been doing some digging, and believe the kontera did not install itself on my machine, rather it was related to a nice cookie from one of the websites I had to go to to get the source. My system has been acting slower, but it may be a result of sandibox, and my AndroidEmu, causing conflicts, as the Emu is not fully stable yet even though it works great.

I'm still a little uneasy as I had to go to a hacker site I was unfamiliar with to get some tools to tweak my pc, and give me more control over the task manager and other areas, it just so happens when the page loads up, there is a big pirate flag and the anon crest with the matrix code lingering down. I support Anon, but I don't like winding up on their websites, you never know with those guys.

I'm still learning which is why I'm updating someone else old project and not creating my own. Anyways, I don't think I'm hacked, but if you feel like looking over my logs and doing a few scans with me just to make sure that is cool.

Anyways thanks.

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer!

I am HelpBot: an automated program designed to help the Bleeping Computer Staff better assist you! This message contains very important information, so please read through all of it before doing anything.

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

To help Bleeping Computer better assist you please perform the following steps:

***************************************************

step1.gif In order to continue receiving help at BleepingComputer.com, YOU MUST tell me if you still need help or if your issue has already been resolved on your own or through another resource! To tell me this, please click on the following link and follow the instructions there.

CLICK THIS LINK >>> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/logreply/533008 <<< CLICK THIS LINK

If you no longer need help, then all you needed to do was the previous instructions of telling me so. You can skip the rest of this post. If you do need help please continue with Step 2 below.

***************************************************

step2.gifIf you still need help, I would like you to post a Reply to this topic (click the "Add Reply" button in the lower right hand of this page). In that reply, please include the following information:

  • If you have not done so already, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.
  • A new DDS log. For your convenience, you will find the instructions for generating these logs repeated at the bottom of this post.
    • Please do this even if you have previously posted logs for us.
    • If you were unable to produce the logs originally please try once more.
    • If you are unable to create a log please provide detailed information about your installed Windows Operating System including the Version, Edition and if it is a 32bit or a 64bit system.
    • If you are unsure about any of these characteristics just post what you can and we will guide you.
  • Please tell us if you have your original Windows CD/DVD available.
  • Upon completing the above steps and posting a reply, another staff member will review your topic and do their best to resolve your issues.

Thank you for your patience, and again sorry for the delay.

***************************************************

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan again:

  • Download DDS by sUBs from the following link if you no longer have it available and save it to your destop.

    DDS.com Download Link
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control can be found HERE.

As I am just a silly little program running on the BleepingComputer.com servers, please do not send me private messages as I do not know how to read and reply to them! Thanks!
