Hi All,

I just tried to use combofix in Windows 8.1 Safe Mode with Command Prompt, and it gave me an error message of "Windows 2000 is not supported".
Interesting ....
So I ran it in Windows normal mode and said it couldn't run, not the same error message, but it didn't run.
Anybody else run into this issue?

Thanks,
Donlizard

Why are you trying to run Combofix?

Just so you know, the following is posted as an announcement in this forum.

No DDS, OTL, HijackThis, or ComboFix logs should be posted in this forum.

sUBs has advised that he is holding off releasing any working version of his tools for Windows 8.1 which includes both ComboFix and DDS. Meaning he is fully aware of the compatibility issue but needs time for thorough testing to ensure they work safely on that OS.

If you need individual assistance with a malware infection that requires using ComboFix, please follow the instructions provided by SleepyDude.

After doing that, please reply back in this thread with a link to the new topic so we can closed this one.
