Reminder To Update Puppy Linux

Puppy Linux users are reminded to Update PPM so they can get the latest Firefox, Etc.

 

Puppy Linux users are reminded to update Flash player.

 

 

Version 11.2.202.356

How to update Flash player

1 Go here http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

2 Download the .tar.gz file. It should go to ~/downloads by default. ( that's the home folder/downloads)

3 Exit Firefox.

4  Go to the download and click it, When xarchive opens click select all and extract.

5 Now copy the libflashplayer.so to user/lib/mozila/plugins and select overwrite.

Done.

 

Firefox version is 29.0

To update PPM and Firefox.

Open PPM and click. Configure package manager, Then click Update, And hit enter to everything.

After it's finished In the Find box type in Firefox and hit search, When the results come up scroll to the bottom of the page, There you will find Firefox XXX is ticked as installed, Ignore that and click it, When done enjoy.

 

I will bump this thread as the updates come out to remind you.

 

If you have not already done so Update SSL also.

Good point, I just remembered to update my workstation today due to this Flash vuln. It had been months since the last time :thumbup2:

Firefox update is now in PPM. Version 29+1.

 

New updates for Flash player. Version 11.2.202.359

Mozilla's latest web browser, Firefox 31, has now been released, and is available for download officially. Firefox 31 is available for both desktop and mobile users throughout the world.
