Hi,

I hope someone can help.

I have purchased a computer from a friend and they were using 802.11n wireless adapter, their son kept messing about with it in the computer and it didnt work properly.  When i set the computer up at home the adapter worked but then kept loosing the signal but if you removed it and put it back again it would work.   So i bought another one that has arrived today and it doesnt work?? am i doing something wrong? it came with an installation disk that i have put in the computer and did what it said, but it doesnt appear to be working.

I dont know much about computers :-)

Thanks in advance

Yes the wireless router is in a different room, and when i purchased the computer they told me that i needed to purchase a new one of these adapters as the one they were using was not working correctly as their son had been playing with it taking it out of the computer and putting it back in, but this one still works but it looses connection after a few minutes but if you take it back out then it works again for a few minutes, i bought one exactly the same and when i put this in the computer it doesnt connect and it says there are no connections available?

Thank you. Did you buy it on line? If so were?

Did you install the software before inserting the wireless in the usb?

Hi

Under Network adapters it is only showing Broadcom 440 x 10/100 integrated controller.

Under "Other Devices" it shows the 802.11n WLAN and this has a yellow ! next to it

thanks
