No luck downloading FireFox.  Had to use Chrome.  Want to ensure freedom from Bill Gates' Nightmare [now in el biggo trouble again!].  Can't get past the set-up download.  Click on it and get a cyber-stare, and zero progress.  Any ideas?

If you're trying to get Firefox, put this in your address bar:

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/

Navigate to the version you want.

Navigate to the platform (e.g. WIN32 -- Windows 32 bit -- no 64 bit)

Navigate to the language you want (e.g. en-US -- English US)

Click on the larger file, not the stub.

First question is are you sure that you know what you mean by "Freedom from M/soft" ??

You still need the Monthly M/soft updates as you have a Windows 7 Operating system.

Even with F/fox or Google Chrome you still need Windows Updates.

Your best option is to install a Linux / Unix style system -

Copy/Pate & go to this address or just click the link: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/

Scroll down to appropriate version; in my case its ver 29.0/ Win32/ en-us/ click *Firefox Setup 29.0.exe* to download latest.

HTH :)
