My pc has an onboard 6100 video card. Would i just have to disable this in the bios, or do i still have to uninstall the video drivers and software from the pc?

Most motherboards disable the onboard video when new hardware is detected. If not yo may be able to disable it manually in the BIOS, or disable it in the Device Manager.
