I couldn't find an appropriate forum for this so trying this one,

The blue screen Tasklock suddenly appeared on my screen. With difficulty I could get rid of the image to the desktop but then clicking on any taskbar icon, eg. my browser icon, brings it up again therefore  I cannot do anything with my computer (I'm doing this on another computer).

Googling this item only seems to bring up articles about its use but not how to get rid of it.

Any suggestions please.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic323892.html/page__p__1797792#entry1797792 , taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.

Thank you for that.

Before I try your instructions can you please confirm I will be able to do this* when Tasklock blocks all action except perhaps Windows internal apps. I cannot download anything as far as I know at present. I cannot open any browser as clicking on its icon just reveals that Tasklock.

*I have had Speccy on a couple of computers before with no problems but this present Tasklock glitch happened when trying to install Speccy on the troubled netbook. I even tried to download it from separate sites hoping to bypass Tasklock but the same thing happened.

Oh there is a portable Speccy version so I'll put that on a pendrive and try that on the netbook - hope that works.

I'll update as soon as I can, perhaps tomorrow though.

I have been in contact with Piriform thinking it was one of their apps. but it isn't it seems as they cannot advise.

Have put Speccy port. on my stick. I have noticed that when running on my 768MB RAM PC, in the summery it says 1GB DDR altho under RAM is the correct size.

Hey ho.

I've got the file of the Speccy data in the attached file (by another computer) Hope it's informative.

Attached File  XqACBvKMRdVVXmrojYjgXma.htm   491.61KB   1 downloads

It says the netbook has 2 RAM slots - it doesn't, another Speccy glitch!

After a week of wrestling with this problem, today without being able to connect to the internet I did a restart (have done may times) and it connected OK and without the Tasklock!

So what happened or didn't happen I don't know - just hope it doesn't return.
