Hi,

Recently my computer which runs windows 7 started to slow down a lot especially when I try to run games. It did not used to do this in the past, and it now keeps crashing and I have to run the game on the lowest setting to even get it to run at all... I have no problems streaming high definition videos though... So I think there might be underlying malware that may be interfering or causing my computer to slow down. I have tried to run malwarebytes but it doesn't pick anything up.

Additionally, my mouse scroll recently starting glitching as well. When I scroll down the page it will suddenly scroll back up a bit and when I scroll up it might suddenly scroll down a bit. I'm not sure if this problem is related.

Any insight or help into these matters would be greatly appreciated!

With kind regards

Hello, xXSenile.

Please download Rkill by Grinler and save it to your desktop.

  • Link 1
  • Link 2
    • Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
    • If using Vista, right-click on it and Run As Administrator.
    • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
    • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
    • If it does not work, repeat the process and attempt to use one of the remaining links until the tool runs.
    • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.
  • Do not reboot the computer, you will need to run the application again.

Download AdwCleanerby Xplode and save to your Desktop.

  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator
  • Click on the Scan button. (only once)
  • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
  • When it's done you'll see: Pending: Uncheck any elements you don't want removed.
  • Now click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R0].txt) will open in Notepad for review.
  • Look over the log especially under Files/Folders for any program you want to save.
  • If there's a program you want to save, just uncheck it from AdwCleaner.
  • If you're not sure, post the log for review.
  • NOW : If you're ready to clean it all up.....click the Clean button.(only once)
  • After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[S0].txt) will open automatically.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.
  • A copy of that logfile will also be saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder.
  • Items that are deleted are moved to the Quarantine Folder: C:\AdwCleaner\Quarantine
  • To restore an item that has been deleted (if necessary):
  • Go to Tools > Quarantine Manager > check what you want restored > now click on Restore.

thisisujrt.gif Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.

  • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
  • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".
  • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
  • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
  • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
  • Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message.

In your next reply, please include the following:

  • Rkill log
  • Adwcleaner log
  • JRT log

Thank you.

Your mouse problem is most likely hardware problems.
Like this one: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-Desktop-PC-Questions/Wireless-Mouse-scrolling-very-weird/td-p/329227
Did you have other mouse to try?

:step1: Going over your logs I noticed that you have uTorrent installed.
  • Avoid gaming sites, pirated software, cracking tools, keygens, and peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing programs.
  • They are a security risk which can make your computer susceptible to a wide variety of malware infections, remote attacks, exposure of personal information, and identity theft. Many malicious worms and Trojans spread across P2P file sharing networks, gaming and underground sites.
  • Users visiting such pages may see innocuous-looking banner ads containing code which can trigger pop-up ads and malicious Flash ads that install viruses, Trojans and spyware. Ads are a target for hackers because they offer a stealthy way to distribute malware to a wide range of Internet users.
  • The best way to reduce the risk of infection is to avoid these types of web sites and not use any P2P applications.
It is pretty much certain that if you continue to use P2P programs, you will get infected again.
I would recommend that you uninstall uTorrent, however that choice is up to you. If you choose to remove these programs, you can do so via Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
If you wish to keep it, please do not use it until your computer is cleaned.

:step2: Check Harddisk for errors
Note: This will takes quite a long time to finished and you will not able to use your computer. you may want to run this overnight or when you're away.

First: Follow this guide to open elevated command prompt in Windows 7 Click Here

Then, copy text in the code box below, right click in command prompt window and select paste.
chkdsk C: /r
Then windows will ask you to restart, please close all other programs, type Y in the command prompt and press Enter.

Please restart your computer and CHKDSK will appears on bootup, don't cancel it. Just let it do its job and it will boot into windows when it finished.

After it finished. Press Windows Key + R, when Run box appears typed in eventvwr and click ok.

Then on the left pane goto Windows Logs > Application, on the middle pane find Source> chkdsk and click on it.
On the right pane goto Copy > Copy Details as Text, the information is now in your clipboard, you can close Event Viewer now.

Paste the information you get from Event Viewer here.
Thank you.

If I don't reply back to you in 2 days, feel free to send me a PM.

Hi Sirawit,

I ran teh check hard disk for errors like you suggested and went to the windogs logs, then application then source... but coudln't find the CHKDSK file. Instead I ran a search in the right pane, and "Wininit" came up, which was the only file that contained any mention of CHKDSK. Not sure if this is what you were looking for?

Hi,

I have updated my adobe flash, and reader as well as posted on the internal hardware forums. Would the temperature thing cause my computer to slow down though/not be able to run games at the same graphics quality from before?

Yes, because from your Speccy log, your CPU temp is 78 and GPU is 74. These are high and can cause slowdown since temperature can decrease performance of cards. And can damage your Hardwares too.

Last additional info:

I don't see an Anti Virus Program running on your machine

Download and install an antivirus program, and make sure that you keep it updated
New viruses come out every minute, so it is essential that you have the latest signatures for your antivirus program to provide you with the best possible protection from malicious software.
Three good antivirus programs free for non-commercial home use are Avast!, Antivir and Microsoft Security Essentials
Note: You should only have one antivirus installed at a time. Having more than one antivirus program installed at once is likely to cause conflicts and may well decrease your overall protection as well as impairing the performance of your PC.

From now, please follow another topic you have open, and please reply me one more time so I know you already saw this post.

Thank you.
