Hi,

So lately my Chrome has been crashing in flash with "We lost Jim memory message", running out of memory? I ran some virus scanners and found nothing, then while browsing some sites i get redirected to Outdated Java Plugin Detected. So i ran a google search on this problem and some of the software recommended was Spyhunter 4. After installing the software it found several malware on my system, but could not remove anything since it's paid. Long story short, my printer stopped printing, all i get is blank pages, no idea if Spyhunter caused that and i keep getting outdated java plugin detected redirection on some pages i visit regularly, how do we start?

Hi -

Start here -

This is what the message relates to, but I fail to see your problem "He's Dead, Jim!" - Chrome Help - Google Help

My instant reaction would be a fault with Google Chrome, and Uninstall it.

How to Uninstall SpyHunter It is a bit "Scammy"

Stage 2 of this project is to try the following -

Based on what you describe, the next thing I would have you do is to check and remove / disable browser extensions.

If you are still having issues after that, the next step is to try resetting browser settings to default.
How to reset your browser settings to default in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari

Hello,

I don't want to uninstall Chrome i need a solution to fix the problem, and i have no extenstions in Chrome when i checked, i did reset the settings and had no effect. Usually the problem happens when i am on facebook looking at album pics after about 20 or 30, it hangs then i get the "He's dead Jim, message"

What about my printer can anything be done so it can print normally, it is printing blank paper right now, i have wasted about 20 papers

Thanks,

OK - First you must remove Spyhunter 4 (see above)

You have not listed your Operating System (XP / Win 7 / Win 8 (or other) so this is just Generic Win 7 set-up

Can you go - Start Orb > Control Panel > Devices and Printers - Now I need to know if your printer is listed.

If it is listed, it should have a tick above it.

If there is no tick above (or beside) it, what is listed in the Printers and Faxes area.

My Windows 7 has my Current Printer, and just Generic named printers (Microsoft)

Do you still have the Install CD that cams with your printer ??

The paper is not "wasted" unless the printer is leaving an "Ink Streak" on the page.

If this is your problem, the Ink Cartridge(s) needs replacing.

I did remove it i Think, i am using Windows 8.1, the printer tick is above "HP Deskjet F4200" which is what i have, as for cartridges they are half full, and yes i see ink streak on the pages in blue...

Please go to Setup & Install for HP Deskjet F4200 All-in-One Printer series and also hp deskjet f4200 drivers Windows 8 downloads.

On the second link, ignore all except HP DESKJET F4200 Driver Utility as the top items are advertising.

Please understand there is a limit to what we can do from here
We try to find related options (if not direct ones) that will help you fix this.

My first option would be to Uninstall the printer and Reinstall it again. This is why I asked above if you had the install CD.

I have removed the "Pay link" from my list, as I thought it offered advice only.

You may need to click on a few of the Options in the second link to see if they help.

I ran this before i came here for help, so somehow Spyhunter replaced my printer drivers with fake one, but even when i remove and reinstall the drivers, no dice...

I am referring to the second link you provided point to a paid software:

I missed the Post #9 as we Over-posted. Very good pick up, why did you not list this earlier ???

PUM = Potentally Unwanted Modification ......

Try our version of the same (similar) tool -

Please download RKill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) to your desktop.
There are 2 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.

rKill.exe: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/10/
iExplore.exe (renamed rKill.exe): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/11/

* Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
* A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
* If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
* Do not reboot until instructed.
* If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.

If normal mode still doesn't work, run the tool from safe mode.
When the scan is done Notepad will open with rKill log.

Post it in your next reply.

NOTE. rKill.txt log will also be present on your desktop.

Hi -

This is the first time that I have ever seen the "He's Dead, Jim!" - Chrome Help - Google Help message.

I only found that post on Google Chrome help forum and posted it to you.

You will need to give me an hour or so to chase details and any fixes -

Mean time : RKill is often not enough to "fix" problems fully, but it "moves them aside" while we run other tools.

This * C:\WINDOWS\system32\gearsec.exe (PID: 1944) [WD-HEUR] seems to be the item stopped but I have not yet found that either.

The items below can all be related or at least partly related :

* b06bdrv [Missing Service]

* E1G60 [Missing Service]
* ebdrv [Missing Service]
* iaLPSSi_GPIO [Missing Service]
* iaLPSSi_I2C [Missing Service]
* ksthunk [Missing Service]
* storvsp [Missing Service]
* Vid [Missing Service]
* vmbusr [Missing Service]
* vpci [Missing Service]
* vpcivsp [Missing Service]

The following is a diagnostic tool for thrse missing services
Please download Farbar Service Scanner (FSS) to desktop and run it on the computer with the issue.
  • Make sure the following options are checked:

  • Internet Services
  • Windows Firewall
  • System Restore
  • Security Center/Action Center
  • Windows Update
  • Windows Defender
  • Other Services

  • Press "Scan".
  • It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
  • Please copy and paste the log to your reply.
