Hello, I have been having troubles with BSoD on and off for about 12 months, but have never been too bothered about it because my machine was a cheap buy (I know it's not a great one), it always reboots and I have everything backed up meticulously. But now it is just getting frustrating.

I know this problem comes up quite a lot, so I have followed the instructions from this thread.

I would uninstall MyWinLocker, IObit Uninstaller, and Surfing Protection...then run the chkdsk /r command...and see how the system performs.

Hi Louis, thank you for getting back to me. I have been unable to reply until now due to work.

I uninstalled those programs, but that has not solved my problem. Any other suggestions?

Hello! I'm sure Louis can help you. I find this thread very interesting, but you should follow Louis's suggestions first. BSOD can be very aggravating, but it can be solved with a little effort.

Hi

The only crash dump you uploaded shows video driver related errors ( Since thee is only one dump, i can't say whether it is the same BSOD repeatedly happening). Please follow the below steps and let me know whether it makes any changes.

1. Uninstall Currently installed AMD display driver properly from the system.

    http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/GPU57RemoveOldGraphicsDrivers.aspx

2. After rebooting the machine, download and install the latest version from the below link.

    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/mobile?os=Windows%207%20-%2064

If the BSOD continues ( hope to not) , please upload the latest crash dump files with next reply. Also make sure not to run disk cleanup utilities as it may delete the dump files ( more than one dump is necessary to find a pattern ).

Hello! You have received good advise.

I can tell you by experience that a majority of the blue screen errors I have encountered are due to one of three things:

    Device drivers

    RAM errors

    HEAT

I would just like to add to this topic if drivers are not the problem. It is very easy to test your RAM with Memtest86+. Also easy to check for Heat problems. Also Clean boot is a very good way to eliminate conflicts with apps.

You will receive the best advise here on BC forum and there will always be someone that will help you solve  your issue.

I have added my 2 cents and Now I will let the experts take this issue on!

Thank you Anshad and donetao.

I have tried unistalling and reinstalling the AMD display drivers. As I said in the original post my bsod problem only occurs on and off, so I'm not sure yet whether it has solved my problem. I will keep you updated with the results.

I very much appreciate your help.

Jenna.

Hello Jlsieff ! Here's my theory about BSOD. It just takes a few minutes to run this.  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/diagnosing-memory-problems-on-your-computer

Memtest86+ is probably much better.  http://www.memtest.org/

Is your machine overheating?? I use Speedfan to monitor temperatures. Be very careful when down loading freeware. The internet has became a cesspool. Do dot install a freeware program unless it is the exe program. Never down load a software that offers A down load manager. Here's a safe link to  speedfan. http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/speedfan.html

Trouble shooting with clean boot is a great way to solve App conflicts that cause BSOD problems.  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796

WhoCrashed might help you find a driver that is causing you problems. You can find it here. http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/whocrashed_free_home_edition.html

I use Slimdrivers to find up dates for drivers, but I only up date drivers if I think they are causing me problems. Don't fix what's not broke is my theory. Use Slimdrivers with caution. http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/slimdrivers.html

I have posted several links to programs I use and I believe I have posted safe down load links. A good way to tell if your down loading a safe program is make sure the program is followed by exe Never use a down load manger.

These are the ways I approach the BSOD. I'm always ready for any comments from forum members(good or bad)

If there are any links not approved by the BC forum, please inform me and delete them.

Don't be afraid of BSOD. It can be fixed.

I have attempted to provide safe down loads, but nothing is for certain any more in this cesspool on the internet. I'm totally hacked off by there behavior and it will only get worse, I'm afraid.

I don't understand why you make it so hard to attach screenshots??
They can be so much help here on the forum.

It's not hard at all...if one can judge by the number of posts containing screenshots as part of the post content, they seem to find it easy to do.

There is a big difference between attachments and inserting images into a post. They are not the same thing.

An attachment adds a clickable link which will open whatever is attached when clicked or allow you to save the attached file. Attachments to a post are no different than an email attachment. As I said to you here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/533529/mother-board-test/?p=3362522 not all forums allow attachments. A list of those that do are in that post. Windows 7 (which is the forum this topic is in) does allow attachments.

Inserting an image does just that-the image shows in the post.
It's not difficult to insert an image. You have done it in other posts.

Good morning guys and gals! Happy Mother's day Queen-Evie. Thank you both for your replies. I run W7 on my machine. I use the snipping tool to capture screen shots. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/use-snipping-tool-capture-screen-shots#1TC=windows-8

My gripe is as Queen-Evie posted "not all forums allow attachments" I suppose there is a reason for that and I'll live with it. If I add a attachment to this post, I'm allowed 14.58 KB; that's not very much. The image that I added in the above reply is 58.0 KB. Therefore it will not allow me to attach the screen shot of Speedfan.

I really wanted that screen shot posted because it seemed important to my topic. So I went to Photo Bucket and used the proceed you taught me Queen-Evie.

Yes I have I posted attachments and images in other posts. Some times it works, some times it doesn't. I guess it depends on the size that I'm trying to post.

This is a great forum and I'll just learn to live with the restrictions. I continue to learn new things and I hope to share them.

Thanks for your great replies. You both are very computer savvy and are doing a great job here on BC forum!

Hello! That's the way Queen-Evie taught me. So it must be legal and it doesn't complain when I post it that way. :bananas:

You all have a great day and thanks again! :tophat:

PS Did you all know that Speedfan will also test your HD S.M.A.R.T???

Frankly...your comment has derailed the topic.

Does anyone have anything pertinent for the OP, the originator of this topic?
