hi, i hope the op doesn't mind my posting in his thread. i encountered the very same problem and tried to follow the fix above but i think i made it worse. it took me forever to get back in safe mode with networking.

i imagine boot-up is the same as start-up? i did not find antimalware in the start up tab but tried to disable it in services. 

i am barely computer literate but try ;)

would somebody be able to help? thanks so much

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.
Good afternoon...please do the following from safe mode. 
 

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
  List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
 
Click Go and paste the content into your next post.
 
Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic323892.html/page__p__1797792#entry1797792 , taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.
