I am using a laptop that is a HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC.

The OS being used is the 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium.

I am trying to create a system repair disc.

I keep getting the error message as follows:

"System repair disc could not be created. The parameter is incorrect. (0x80070057)".

Please help me fix this problem!

I have created a system image using an external hard drive (Seagate Expansions).

I have also run sfc /scannow.

But the problem has not still been fixed.

More than likely the quality of the blank DVD or the laser eye is dirty.

If you can sucessfully burn a CD and DVD then the problem may be with HP. I have read that HP utilities may cause a problem with the creation of the Rescue Disk. Type CMD in the search box and Right Click > Run as Administrator. At the prompt type:

recdisc.exe

Does this work?

Well, I got snakebit again: The OP posted in April so I assume he solved the problem.
