Every time I search in Google Chrome, the search completes but then instantly redirects to a search using the criteria "tub" . This first starting occuring when I was actually searching for tubs for a bathroom remodel.  As this persisteted, it morphed into opening a new tab and directing to r.looksmart or a 404.

I set my google seeting back to default and it cleared it up for a day but the "tub" thing is back and I assume it's only a matter of time before the second tab stuff returns.

I have slightly more computer knowledge than the average Joe, but that is about it, so bear with me!

Thank You in Advance

Jack

Disable all extensions in Google Chrome except for Adblock (if you have it).

Done. This seems to have cleared up the "tub" thing. The extensions that I have and are now disabled are

Avast

Google DOcs

Lastpass

IETab

I narrowed this down to Lastpass password manager by enabling the extensions one by one, alone and in different combinations.

I uninstalled lastpass completely.  I re installed lastpass including the extension.  The redirect no longer occurs

I am done or is their still some nastiness lurking on my computer?

Thanks

Jack
