This is actually pretty funny at the moment! I found an empty folder called Dd1203 so I deleted it. Then I emptied Recycle Bin - and it said it couldn't delete it. So I used Unlocker to delete it. Unlocker said it HAD deleted it, so I opened the Recycle Bin to make sure - and there was a file called Dd1204!!
So I selected it, pressed DELETE - and got a new file, Dd1205 AND still had Dd1204. Selected them both, pressed DELETE and got 1205,1206,1207 and 1208. Selected them all....
I now have a recycle bin bulging with Dd120-somethingorothers. If I try emptying the bin it says CANT DELETE FILE - CANT READ SOURCE FILES. Now they're not DOING anything. They all claim to be zero bytes. But there's gotta be getting on for a thousand of the suckers, they're obviously SOMETHING dodgy or they wouldn't be behaving like this and I don't want them on my hard drive. But I can 't get rid of them!
Windows XP Mini. Yup - I run my computer on the Windows that comes free with Hirem's Boot Disk! Works like a charm - for me, anyway. Small, just sits in the background and makest things work, just what an operating system SHOULD be like. But now it's got a ton of worrying, empty folders there.
Any ideas? By the way, I scanned the bin with Avast Free and it said they weren't viruses - but I don't know if I believe it. Why would they be dodging deletion and replicating like fast-forwards rabbits otherwise?
