Hi

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium. After an Adaware install today, every time I restart the system, Windows  starts to load and then the system shuts down completely. Sometimes I will get to an MS Repair screen.with an additional option to start Windows normally. The Start up repair utility fails to find a cause. The system restart then fails and the system shuts down,  I am unable to reach my desktop at all

Please help

Thanks

Hi,

Do you have the installation disk so that you can boot from that and try using the startup repair on the CD?

Keep us posted

Start Win 7 in SAFE MODE

Restart in "LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION"

Any joy ??

If Not...safe mode again and attempt a System Restore

Let me know how you go...

Dick E & Condobloke

Thanks for these fast replies. I do not have the system discs- Win 7 came preinstalled.

I have managed by some miracle to get onto the desktop. I have created a Restore Point for today and am uploading some backups now. Any ideas as to how I should proceed with repairs now that the desktop is back up ?

You should be able to create backup disks.  Usually, it's a utility that's provided by the manufacturer.  I'd advise you to make these disks as soon as possible.  You should also create a System Repair Disk ASAP.
