Cannot Get Rid Of Im-svr

hi, i stupidly clicked on that "i get my screen name from...." thing on msn and am now aware it is a trojan and cannot get rid of it completely as it will not move from my desktop, please help, thanks,lauren.

This is an undesirable program.

This file has been identified as a program that is undesirable to have running on your computer. This consists of programs that are misleading, harmful, or undesirable.

If your still having problems after those instructions, do this.

Download and scan with Ewido Anti-Malware v3.5 in "SAFE MODE".
Ewido Install and Scan Instructions.

While in safe mode delete the following files if still present:
C:\Program Files\IM Names\IM-svr.EXE <- this file
C:\Program Files\2search\main.exe <- this file

Reboot in normal mode and follow the manual removal instructions for fixing the registry posted here. Make sure you back up the registry first as instructed.

Instead of scanning with Symantec, perform the following online scans:
[Watch the Address bar in IE. You may receive alerts that "This site might require the following ActiveX control...Click here to install...". Click on that alert and then Click Install ActiveX component.]
Trend Micro Housecall Scan
Panda ActiveScan [ActiveScan Panda does not remove adware/spyware but will autoclean for viruses & worms.]

When done, delete the following folders:

C:\Program Files\IM Names\
C:\Program Files\2search\
.
.

hi, thanks so much for your help. i removed this virus after much headache and stress trying to get rid of it, it also gave me a computer lesson as i am a bit of a novice!! thanks again :thumbsup:
