My system crashed and gave me a Blue Screen while I was reading my email on Thunderbird.  Prior to that I was watching a webinar for an hour on Citrix GotoMeeting which I also recorded with a program.

After I got the blue screen I restarted my machine per instructi0ons into SAFE-MODE with networking. I then ran a program that I once saved on my system which was recommended on a blog, Blue Screen View.  I saved files of the output in both the upper and lower panes but i would need help to interpret this.

I would apprecioate any guidance in finding out the source of this crash and anything that should be done.

Thank you.

This is what i got in one of my files saved from blue screen view.

Probable driver issue. Found this at Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/256010/en-us. Process walks through the steps to edit the registry to find the offending driver. Suggest that you back up the registry per the KB, Once the problem driver has been identified, replace it.

Good luck.

Please download and install Speccy to provide us with information about your computer.  When  FileHippo opens, click on Download latest version in the upper right pane.

When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

 Checkmark the following checkboxes:

• List last 10 Event Viewer log

Hi,

I just found your message after not finding it in SPAM folders; it got auto-filed instead so I didn't see this.

I am pasting the Speccy results below so you can see what is going on with my computer. I do notice problems with MS-Word where things sometimes "hang" and I get a "spinning circle".  I've also noticed that I cannot seem to PRINT properly in MS-Word; converting to PDF and opeining/printing from Adobe seems to correct this.  (I did note that after printiing sometimes the system Lexmark printing "hangs";but  after deleting a lxea process  the system starts printing again; still not always correctly though.

I may have other errors with my machine.  I just got the attached error message the past 1-2 days; only programs open may have been Family TreeMaker and Thunderbird mail (Maybe MS-Word too?).

Please perform a Clean Boot.

***This is a diagnotic tool for Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.  This will not repair your computer, but it may point to where the problem lies so that a repair can be made.***

Warning:  Disabling items in Services or Startup may leave your anitivius disabled until the process is ended.  For this reason I would suggest that you perform this process off line.

Step 1

(1)  Click on the Start orb, then type msconfig.exe in the Search programs and files box.

(2)  When msconfig is seen in the pane above the search box and under Programs, right click on it, then click on Run as administrator.

afterstart_zps02764513.jpg

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, you should enter the password or provide confirmation.

Step 2

(1)  Click on the General tab.

(2)  Click the Selective startup option.

(3)  Remove the check mark in the Load startup items  check box.

msconfig_zps77b1ef82.png

Step 3

(1)  Click on the Services tab.

(2)  Place a check mark in the Hide all Microsoft services check box, this will remove the Microsoft Services from the list but will still be running.

(3)  Click Disable all, this will remove all of the check marks in the Services list, then click on Apply, then OK.  Click on Restart in the window that opens.

Caution:  I repeat, by disabling the Services your antivirus will not be active, for this reason I suggest that this process not be run while online.

msconfig2_zpsef3c4759.png

If the problem does not reoccur after the reboot this means that there is a Service which is causing this proble, continue with the process of elemination to find the Service which is causing this in Option A.  If the problem does reoccur after the reboot go to Option B.

Option A

**The following is a process of elimination to find the Service or Startup item that is causing your problem**.

*  If the problem does not reoccur after the restart go back to Services and place check marks in half of the boxes and restart the computer.

*  If the problem still does not continue return to Services and remove the check marks that were added, then place check marks in the remaining half of the boxes and restart the computer.

If the problem resumes after a restart in one of these halves, you will procede with this process in the half where the problem occurs.  If this does not continue in either half you should repeat this process in Sartup

*  In the half of the Services that the problem is found, remove one check mark at a time and restart the computer to see if that  is the Service causing the problem.  Continue to do this with the Services untill the service causing this problem is  found.

Option B

Search Startup itmesIf the problem is not found in Services, remove all of the check marks, click on the Startup tab and repeat the search process there.

Caution:  If this is a laptop, make sure, you do NOT disable any keyboard, or touchpad entries.

If this problem is found post the Service or Startup item that is causing it.

When you are finished using the Clean Boot go back to System Configuration and click on the General, then click on Normal Startup, click on [b]OK, then restart your computer.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

SYSTEM PERFORMANCE/CRASH STATUS

I have done several other evaluations of my SYSTEM using some other diagnostic approaches to better find the problem.

  1. I ran the CHKDSK routine to be certain that all files/folders on machine that should be present were thereI copied the LOG file for this, CBS Log, to my desktop. It is a very long list and I can provide this to you for further evaluation as to possible missing files or other failures.
  1. I inspected the Windows System Event Viewer Log to see which errors seemed to have occurred most often over the last 24 hours- 7 days. I looked at the TOP window and expanded each section to go through this.

I I I have compiled the following list of errors/warnings noted below which seem to be of concern. I have also copied & compiled FULL details of these errors in another MS-WORD document which I  can share if you wish.

It seems clear that I have a problem with my printer and the Bonjour serviceIn addition to the above, I found one reference to the UnplugHost Service which was disabled; I re-enabled this.

  1. I utilized the DebugDiagnostics program and I ran that to find instances of Crashes/System Hangs [hxxp://blogs.msdn.com/b/debugdiag/archive/2013/03/15/debug-diagnostic-1-2-creating-a-rule-in-crash-mode.aspx].  I set it up to look for possible problems in services/processes of concern among which included WINWORD (MS-Word), LxeaCustConnectService, LxeaDevice, Bonjour service.   I set as breakpoints “termination”; as I am not too familiar with the proper and most effective use of this program I left it as this to find possible areas of concern.

After using my computer normally for several days I checked an analysis of those RULES which I set up. I saved the outputs and I can provide this or any part of it if asked.

  1. I did find an alert at in my DELL Action Center noting  “Alert-Solve a problem with your video device driver-Action”.
  1. In addition to the above I ran my Windows Update to be certain that all important updates were indeed on my machine.   All important updates were present. However, there was an optional update pertaining to a

Intel Corporation - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2 - Intel® HD Graphics

Installation date: ‎5/‎10/‎2014 2:43 AM

Update type: Optional

Intel Corporation Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2 software update released in January, 2014

This may have been the trigger from the bluescreen event.

  1. I did find an alert at in my DELL Action Center noting  “Alert-Solve a problem with your video device driver-Action”.

I am pasting some of the snapshots from CrashReports etc. below. I think this may help in finding out my problems.

I will continue on now to try stopping half the “services” in MS-CONFIG to see what effect that has on the system.

Thanks again for your assistance and patience.

If you are going to run scans on you own I'm not needed, especially if you are not going to do what I have requested.

My apologies. I do indeed need and appreciate your assistance. The past 1-2 weeks i've been very busy.

I will do exactly what you ask from now on. I will try doing the MS-CONFIG routine and I will post whatever I've found by the end of this weekend.

I hope that you can continue to assist me.  I do hope that the additional info that I posted in my last email helps in solving my problem though.
