The computer is running very slow lately.  I have had Malwarebytes and Norton's eraser scan the computer.  Both did not find any probems.

It is still clunky.  Is there any other software that can help?

Thank you

Hi

The AdwCleaner seemed to find things and help a little.  The Malwarebytes didn't find any problems.

Computer is running a little faster.  However, it still takes a long time to start up.

Thank you for the help and suggestions

Please download and install Speccy to provide us with information about your computer.  When  FileHippo opens, click on Download latest version in the upper right pane.

When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.

Yes, you did the Speccy correctly.

Please post the log for the Malwarebytes.

You still haven't posted the MiniToolBox.

Please run chkdsk /r

Chkdsk /r checks for bad sectors on the hdd and recovers any readable information.

Click on the Start orb and type in cmd in the Search programs and files box.  When cmd is seen in Programs above the Search box right click on it, then click on Run as administrator.

You will see a screen similar to the one below.

Screenshot2.jpg

Type in chkdsk c:/r then press Enter.  Please notice the space between the chkdsk and the /r.

You will receieve the message "CHKDSK cannot be run because it is in use by another process.  Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts?  <Y/N>".

Type in Y and press Enter.

Restart your computer to start the scan.

This will take a while to run, please be patient and allow it to complete the scan.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

Just ran chkdsk .  Did not get a report on the scan.  I guess no news on the scan means that it is good news.

Thank you

Is your chief complaint a slow startup, or is it slow afterward as well?

A slow start up is still the problem.  It is working better on the internet after running AdwCleaner.  Do I have too many programs running in the back ground that is causing a slow start up?

Thank you for help.

This is why I was trying to clarify just what exactly the problem is.

Go to Start and type msconfig in the Start Search box and press Enter.

This will open the System Configuration.

Click on the Startup tab to view what is being started when you boot into Windows.

If you can see all of the items without having to scroll down I would like for you to take a screenshot of the page and post it here.  If you can't see all of the startup items without scrolling down to see the rest, make tow screen shots.

1. Download and run A Thousand Words .

2. Follow the wizard to capture a screenshot

3. Use the built-in editor to resize, edit, or re-capture your screen shot.

4. Your screen shot will be saved to your desktop when you finish the wizard.

You can post the screenshot in your next post as an attachment.

Just below the area where you write text in a post there is the Post button, to the right of this is More Reply Options

When you click on More Relpy Options  you will see Attach Files and Browse, click on Browse, this will open Pictures on your computer, click on the image you made with the, then click on Attach This File, then Add Reply.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

Hi

I used Norton's startup.  I could make the screen size larger.  It also had the same programs as msconfig startup.
