Hi,

I have an old laptop.

HP Compaq 6820s

Processor: Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2390 1.86GHz

Memory: 2047MB(667)

Video Adapter: ATI Mobility Radeon X1350

I use Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 + last updates.

Browser: Google Chrome

95% of the time I use this laptop to watch videos here: http://www.dr.dk/tv/find-program/

The Windows has just been installed on the fresh formatted partition. But even in this situation when I only watch the videos from the above link, they still work interrupted sometimes, and Google Chrome loads a lot the task manager.

Considering the above please answer to the next questions:

1. Which are the best optimizations for Windows 7 to help me to see those videos smoother?

2. Do you consider is there any other browser which is more dedicated and lighter for watching videos online? If no, tell me please with are the best optimizations for Google Chrome to improve it for my demand.

Thank you very much !

Hi xspeed, I dont think your issue will be with the browser, there are other factors when streaming.

Laptops network card

  • Is it a N or G network card?
  • Are you wireless or hardline?

Your network

  • Who is your isp (most packet manage)
  • What router are you using?
  • Are you using a proxy?
  • What firewall are you using

The streaming server itself

  • How many people are hitting it at once
  • whats there down speed

AMD FX - 8320 | Asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0 | Asus R9 290X | 8gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600mhz | Corsair rm850 | Samsung 256gb 840 | Corsair H80I | CM Storm Trooper

What is the download speed suppose to be from your ISP?

Try using a speed test to see what you upload and download speeds are.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

 Checkmark the following checkboxes:

• Flush DNS
• Report IE Proxy Settings
• Reset IE Proxy Settings
• Report FF Proxy Settings
• Reset FF Proxy Settings
• List content of Hosts
• List IP configuration
• List last 10 Event Viewer log
• List Installed Programs
• List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
• List Minidump Files

Click on Go to start the scan.  Once it is finished highlight the text, copy it and paste it in your next post.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

You can't copy and paste it in your topic?

I have a very strong aversion to downloading anything to my computer unless I know exactly what is contained in it.

FWIW:  I tried to copy/paste content into post but failed twice...website/browser just seemed to freeze up.  I suspect that the length of the report is the issue.

Sorry, dc3, I have tried again for a few times, and Chrome has blocked again.
