I had a small company come to me after they were hit by the Cryptolocker virus. They had to have the files next week for a meeting and said they would pay the ransom. Bought a Moneypak card and entered the number 15 hours ago and I am still getting the message "awaiting payment activation". I just want to warn everyone that apparently paying the ransom does not always work.

There is also a lengthy ongoing discussion in this topic: Cryptolocker Hijack Program. Since this infection is so widespread, rather than have everyone start individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any questions or comments in that topic discussion.

Thanks

We do not close (lock) topics in this forum unless a member has been asked to (and does) start a new topic in the Malware Removal Logs forum and post the required logs.

Good luck in the other topic.

OK,  I paid the ransom (or the company that got the virus did), the files were decrypted and as soon as I restarted my computer cryptolocker encrypted my files again and gave me the same ransom message!!!
