Hi - I have an HP Pavillion N5210. The sound used to work but no longer does. When I go to control panel/sounds audio devices/audio I show no preferred/default devices showing for playback. Any ideas? bad sound card? also - is the sound card integral to the motherboard?

Hi trdljones.
Take a look in device manager for any yellow or red splats.
Could be you just need to re-install the drivers.
Sometimes the drivers are already sitting on the hard drive for re-installation.
Check windows explorer for an HP\Drivers folder.
If they're not there, you can download them from HP Here.
It has a modem\audio combo setup.
