I was reading about a firmware bug that could brick computers, from 2010...

http://www.npr.org/2012/05/09/152296621/cyber-briefings-scare-the-bejeezus-out-of-ceos

And I know folks who are wondering what to do with their XP machines ...

So, I'm sorta curious whether it would be better for them to abandon the XP machines (if for no other reason) because of the above-mentioned firmware issue...

...and then from there...wondering if this firmware issue has been fixed in Vista & Win 7, which came out before 2010 (but were fixed in upgrades...)...

Thanks!
