Hello,

I'am using revo and I have been reading some materials about Ccleaner and I understand Ccleaner is a great tool to use.

would you know if ccleaner is better to use OR revo?

and what would be the difference in the two?

Thankyou,

Have a great day.

Revo is strictly an uninstaller. It does a good job of uninstalling difficult programs and more thorough job than the program's uninstaller.

CCleaner is most useful in quickly cleaning up temporary files on the system and multiple programs. It does have a listing of programs

similar to Windows and you can uninstall from that list. It has other tools such as the one you can use to control what programs and add-ons

load at boot time.

You install it and use it as often as you like.

If you do install it, be sure to pay attention while installing and UNcheck any offers of toolbars such as Yahoo.

Use the default settings for cleaning.   CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

How to use Revo Uninstaller

Introducing CCleaner
Using CCleaner
CCleaner Tour: Using and Understanding CCleaner

I use both Revo and CCleaner...portable zipped versions. CCleaner full installer version (ccsetup411.exe) is bundled with a toolbar (i.e. Google, Yahoo). If you don't want any toolbars, use the portable toolbar free version (ccsetup411.zip) found on this Other builds page.

Note: While CCleaner is safe and useful for removing these temporary and junk files, I do not recommend using the built-in registry cleaning feature unless you have a good understanding of the registry.

In fact, Bleeping Computer DOES NOT recommend the use of registry cleaners/optimizers for several reasons.

Hello,

Yes I installed the revo the other day when we were talking and that you suggested to do so I installed the portable.

and while I was interested in that I have been reading bout Ccleaner but no infomation on if that is suggested to leave it installed also along like revo you see.

I do know if you are not careful you can mess up the registry using those kinds of things.

So didn't realy know or find a answer to leaving both programs installed or to remove.

I have revo installed right now.

There is no harm in leaving them both on your system. BTW, if you use the portable zipped versions there is no actual installation as they are stand-alone apps.

I went to the ccleaner portable version and there isn't a ccsetup411.zip there.

It should be in between CCleaner - Installer and CCleaner - Slim

The version number is now 412 not 411...it is frequently updated

CCleaner - Portable
Zip file, no installer

4,895 kb - ccsetup412.zip

Other builds page

This is not true ofcourse. Revo also has really powerful cleaning options very obviously on the start-screen and menu. Always been like that. But the real question is, is the free version still updated? Last time i checked, the free version will always give you like version 2.2 or something, which by now is like a zillion years old. To get the newest, you had to purchase it.

That is probably also why it is not so big anymore. The bigger a software is, the more apparent it will become if there are issues or shortcomings compared to other similar software. Ccleaner has always kept getting bigger and the general opinion is still so widely positive. So i would trust it more.

What mode do you recommend using for Revo Uninstaller?
