I have a 3 ish year old iBuyPower CZ-12 Gaming Laptop that I've blown the dust off after a year unused. I wiped it clean and reinstalled all drivers and updates and such. The main problem is horizontal lines going across the constantly, inability to load video card drivers, and video card errors. All leading me to the problem being diagnosed as: faulty LVDS (connector from motherboard to LCD screen). The motherboard is a Compal PBL21. I'm trying to buy this part and have it professionally installed at a local repair shop. The problem is the only site selling "PBL21 LVDS"  is a Polish website by the name of axamit.pl, making the shipping on a $12 part over $80. Where can I get this part? How can I solve this problem?

Note: Video Card is soldered in, the only way it could be replaced is buying a whole new Motherboard for $400, which is probably more than the computer is worth at this point in its life.

Any and all help is appreciated. I JUST WANNA PLAY DIABLO 3 AND FF:XIV OKAY???

tl;dr can't find PBL21 LVDS to restore video card function

faulty LVDS (connector from motherboard to LCD screen).

on that cable usually will have a printed Serial / Product Number, you could search with that number for guidance

I stripped back some of the thermal tape and it is not one collective wire, its a ton of small ones. There is no printed Serial/Product Number, from what I can tell.

I went to a repair store, and they told me replacing this might fix it. They also told me that I would have to find it myself because they don't carry this specific cable. I thought I was gonna be off scott-free UNTIL POLAND HAPPENED

I just spoke with a hardware distributor AND iBuyPower tech support. iBuyPower can't get the part number and the distributor gave no help. At this point it would cost over $150 to send it in...for a $12 part.... Not sure what to do.

The main problem is horizontal lines going across the constantly, inability to load video card drivers, and video card errors.

That sounds like a fault with the video hardware, not the display cable. If the cable was the problem, you would be able to install the video drivers without any issues.
