Canon printer not supported xcept by windows..

Hi Everyone - Just installed Ubuntu 12.04 - This is a great OS. I tried to install drivers for a canon mf4500 printer/fax but find out that they support windows only. I called Canon, the guy said try a European canon site but seems I'm sol. If anyone has had success finding printer drivers for this model I'd be eternally grateful.

See this Ubuntu thread. Good Luck. The scanner may not work though.

 

Also this. Shows a later version of the UFRII driver listed in the above Ubuntu thread

 

For the scanner you may have to install Vuescan (paid).

Thanks for that info - I would probably pay more for the app than if I just go buy another cheap printer that is compatible.
