upgrading to windows 7 ultimate

i was thinking of upgrading my compaq mini laptop from a windows 7 starter to a windows 7 ultimate or whatever through windows anytime upgrade. i already did the compatability test and it gave me the green light so i was just wondeering if there are any consequences if i do go through with the update and what kind of safety measures should i do?

Hi,

I'd review the features that are added by the upgrade and only go as far as necessary. If you don't need or use the features there seems to be little reason to pay for them. I use Pro and have never found a need to go up to Ultimate.

Back up all of your data before yo do an upgrade - just in case. Also, keep a good security program current at all times.

The main benefit of upgrading is being able to utilize more ram, most of us have -0- need for the added features.  Security question is relating to a good AV and a few other toys.
