I recently found I had $25 forgotten cash in my PayPal acct & purchased PowerISO for an addl $4.99 :) and installed it being very careful to avoid the extra ahem..."goodies" SearchProtect by Conduit and PureLeads. (whatever that is) I've extracted the installer w/ 7-Zip and notice a file in $TEMP called sp-downloader.exe

Despite the added garbage I plan to keep using PowerISO - it's a great prog & I have a lifetime license - but want to know of a way to remove the "extras" BEFORE installing, for example delete the $TEMP folder mentioned before and re-zip (re-compile?) the installer when I update to a newer version.

Thanks in advance - "U_T"

Added info: MBAM detects "OpenCandy" (which ESET has removed from its list of PUA's) when scanning the installer :nono:

I've heard of an application called PE Explorer that can do this... have never used it though.

I just had a play with this Union_Thug, I never knew about it either. Seems it connot open .exe's, only .sed's.... even though it can create .exe's.

I feel slightly ripped off, I was excited there for a moment.

If you wanted to extract the installation file, try Uniextract. Its free and great in ripping out exe and msi and other installation files in a 'useful' manner. I use it a lot and don't forget the special 'innounp' file to be placed n the installation folder.
