I am unable to access my external hard drive and it says that it's raw with no formatting. The files are still there apparently and is viewable when I insert it on my Televisions' USB port. I wonder what I need to do to access it without having to reformat.

Try right clicking computer then when it opens click on disk management, if the drive shows right click it and click on make active.  It may or may not work but well worth trying.

I have tried almost everything I can think of to no avail so I just reformatted and recovered the files. Thanks for all the help.
