Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.
 
Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
  List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
 
Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Can i copy and paste the contents of the speccy snapshot to you??? I can only download stuffs  at work, but i cant install those programs at work, becos of restrictions on the systems at work. It requires administrator usernames and passwords. I cant do it at hoME, am offline at home, BEACAUSE amJust trying to get a dial up service for the laptop at home. ( that is the  laptop is that has issues. )

 

or u can teach me an alternate way, i can get the link of the snapshot to u????

If this is a work computer...any system issues need to be brought to the attention of IT personnel, those authorized/charged with taking care of those systems.

 

Anything that you attempt to do with those systems...without the approval of the authorized personnel...probably won't be supported here.  We have no intent of subverting authorized control of systems employed at work sites...nor do we intend to

 

The Speccy snapshot requires connectivity to the Internet.

 

If the system with problems has no Internet connectivity....it's impossible for you take/post a snapshot.

 

Aren't there public libraries, etc...to which you could temporarily connect your system, away from home? 

 

Bottom line...it's hard to assess what might be correctable without the type of data provided in the Speccy snapshot, IMO.

There is no indication of overheating of the CPU or the hard drive, no free space issues on hard drive.  The SMART data for the hard drive looks OK.

 

I would replace Spybot with SUPERAntiSpyware because I feel that Spybot is an inferior product.

 

In short...I see no obvious indications that the system should be running with reduced functionality.  Looking at the Speccy data...there is no indication at all that anything currently installed...ever approaches maximum RAM usage. 

 

Please run and post a current MiniToolBox log, following the instructions provided in my first post.

Ayodeji, the only thing that I see in your hardware specs that you may be losing performance on is your RAM. You have 1GB of DDR2 PC2-6400 & 512MB of DDR2 PC2 4300. The 512MB stick, being that it's running at lower frequency, is dragging down the 1GB of better quality RAM down with it, which is why your total frequency is that of the smaller stick. If you were to replace that 512MB stick with a 1GB PC2-6400 one, to match the other, performance will improve. That's still a decent CPU that you have, better than some on today's budget models.

 

I second Louis on his opinion in regards to replacing Spybot with SuperAntiSpyware, I've used the latter for years, have two Pro versions of it. it's much better than Spybot & easier to run. Spybot was good in it's day, but hasn't kept up with the times.

You are already receiving help here, please continue in that thread.

Mod Edit:  I moved all posts relating to OP from hijacked topic - Hamluis.

If you think the issue may be malware related....you can start a new topic in the Am I infected? What do I do? forum or follow the instructions provided in the Malware Removal and Log Section Preparation Guide starting at Step 6.

  • If you cannot complete a step, then skip it and continue with the next.
  • In Step 6 there are instructions for downloading and running DDS which will create two logs. (Note: Windows 8.1 Users will not be able run DDS and create a log)

When you have done that, post your logs in the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum, NOT here, for assistance by the Malware Response Team.
