I'm running a new install of Windows 7 Prof. with XP mode.

I installed Microsoft Office 2000, in XP mode, to try and keep my Outlook Express e-mail, that I was using in Win-XP.

It seems to work ok, except each time I open Outlook Express in XP mode, I have to enter my passwords on each of my e-mail addresses. If I keep OE open while in XP mode, I don't have to keep entering pass words, I can send/receive without entering PW's.

As soon as I close OE, and open it again, I have to re-enter PW's for each address.

Any idea why OE won't hold my passwords?

I also have Windows Live Mail on the Windows 7, and it works ok. I just don't like it as well as OE.

If it is an identity password, then it is normal Outlook Express asks for a password every time it opens. If it is an account password, you can select Remember Password under the Servers tab.  Tools > Accounts

I have entered it in the Accounts. I have to...   just to receive and send my mail.

When I was running Windows XP home, and Outlook Express, I never had to re-enter my passwords after putting them in Accounts the first time.

Windows 7 with XP mode now requires me to re-enter them each time I open OE.

You are using OE on a Windows 7 system by running it in a 'virtual' environment. That virtual environment being XP Mode. Once you close XP Mode you lose some dynamic settings. I'm willing to believe those passwords are one of them. XP Mode is not a reliable or stable environment to begin with. Not to mention support for XP, OE, and Office 2003 products ends on April 8. You'll still get security updates for a little longer but I wouldn't trust OE as a mail client after April 8.
