I'm posting this in another laptop because my keyboard from my own laptop is going haywire.

I can't press q but when I press any other key it results in q being pressed over an over.

ex. hqeqlpqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq

Any help is appreciated

Hi -

It sounds like a "simple" short in the keyboard link.

Please list the Make and (if known) Model of the laptop so we can post you the details back.

Usually there is an Online Manual for this that will help.

Are you into mechanical working ? As there is a bit of work involved.

The nearest I can find is a Lenovo G485 Hardware Maintenance Manual
http://www.manualslib.com/download/324719/Lenovo-G485.html
Download Manual (124 pages, 12.58 Mb) Pages 50 to 60 seem to show it

If this is not for you, I think a repair shop is a better option.

I do not think it is infection related, but more of a Hardware problem.

Turn the laptop over and Very Gently try to shake the keys loose (works sometimes).
