Hi, I have no experience really with windows 8 but my mother's newish computer has got it and it's gone crazy on her. I think it's a virus and I tried to install hijackthis and it says it can't creat an output file while I try to unzip it. I have no idea what this means. I tried to download winzip and that didn't change anything (if that's stupid and irrelevant it's because I really, really have no idea what I'm doing). Anybody know what's going on?

Try unzipping the files to a different location, i.e. Desktop, C:\Temp.

That worked, thank you. I don't know if I should start a new thread for this or not but Hijackthis gave me this message after I unzipped and ran it to email merijn@spywareinfo.com. Do you know if that's legit?

McAfee site advisor says the site might be dangerous.

I believe it is legit, but I'm not part of the cleaning.  You might want to post it in a new thread, in the appropriate forum.

I'll do it now, thank you.
