Hello there, I first just wanted to say that I found this site the other day and I really appreciate all the hard work and help that you guys give out on here. I wish I had found this site sooner. My machine is diseased  :lmao:

So I have quite a few little issues with my machine that I could use some assistance with. It has always been an issue with being able to enable the windows firewall on here and I don't know how long it has been doing that.

About a month ago when I did some scans using Malware Bytes and Avira there were issues with Java and Flash, so I uninstalled them and was unable to re-install them with Chrome. I was able to on Internet Explorer though. I can't even get Firefox to run properly, never really have had much luck with it. It simply stopped working one day.

I've managed to get Chrome to work just fine and for awhile the machine seemed pretty good after using CCleaner and multiple scans.

I very recently haven't been able to install certain new programs and encounter an NSIS Error, which started this past week. Only certain programs seem to install, I also have noticed that some programs don't finish downloading in the browser and I have to restart them, they get stuck at the end.

Another odd thing, my other laptop has the exact same issue only that is windows 8 and I can post about that later.

Well, what do you guys think? Just let me know what you need from me and I'll give you as much log info as this thing spits out. Thanks!

Welcome,

Can you give us the hardware and software specs? I agree, you have problems. Our first step might be to determine if they are hardware or software related and if software if there's an infection.

Thanks

Stay well and surf safe [stay protected]

See first NSIS errors.

Download MiniToolBox and run the program. Select
List Last 10 Event Viewers, List Installed Programs and List Users, Partitions and Memory Size then click Go.
A notepad will open then copy-paste the report on your next reply.

Download SecurityCheck.exe from Here

. Run SecurityCheck and follow the instruction from inside the code box.
. When the scan is finished, a notepad will automatically open as check.txt
Please copy and paste the contents here on your next reply.

It has been with a few different programs with the NSIS error, I have attempted the command prompt (didn't work) and scanned for virus's. I haven't found anything yet and no luck yet. Let's see if these can help you.

Remove completely previously installed protection softwares.

F-Secure Uninstallation Tool

How to uninstall Bitdefender

Run System File Checker Tool then post the log or result if there are unrepaired files.

Download then run Farbar Service Scanner and checkmark all boxes.
Click Scan and then a Notepad text will open. Copy-Paste the report on your next reply.

How's the computer running?

Thanks very much for all your help so far  B)

I didn't have bitdefender installed on here just an empty folder in program files and the installer that I downloaded. I removed them and then did the file checker tool.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Here is what Farbar's scan came up with. It seems to be running a bit better, windows update started working again, it wasn't before. Firewall still will not start. Videos are playing properly again though :) they used to crash and cause a green screen, but only on non-youtube videos.

So it's getting there, just needs a little more work. Thanks again Jhayz.
