Hello!

My internet connection tends to disconnect around every 1-2 hours so I was wondering are there logs somewhere on my computer about connection errors. From what I know, Windows Services does not have logs about network errors so maybe there is some software that can record network connection errors?

Have you looked in the event monitor?

I'm pretty sure I've seen network-related events listed...

Cheers!

Oh my god, I feel dumb. I thought I browsed through all the Event Viewer catagories before, but I guess I didn't notice the very first one - Administrative Events.

Judging by the warnings there, it seems like my computer can't renew it's address from the DHCP server. I guess I'll have to contact my ISP to see if there is something wrong with DHCP server.

Thanks a lot. I missed something very obvious.

Don't feel dumb, you're human...

...there are a lot of details!

I think that's why they added the "custom views" feature... :)

Glad you found something which helped!

Cheers!

Do you have a modem and separate router or is it all one box? Either way I'd unplug it all and plug it back in, if 2 boxes modem first, let lights settle and then router. If 1 box just unplug it and plug it back in. While waiting, reboot your computer.

If still happening and it's 1 box call. If 2, they normally don't help with a customer provided router.

Hope this helps thumbup.gif
