Usually if I get some malicious software, like a virus, I just goto control panel, find the program and uninstall it.
Well I downloaded something and it came with a whole bunch of what I can only presume are viruses, I was pretty quick to clear 'em out.
1) But when I started up Chrome and opened a new tab, it was not the usual sight. It directed me to "feed.helperbar.com" and opened a search engine (some wannabe Google looking one). I checked my control panel to make sure I didn't miss anything, strangely it seemed more empty than normal, and I didn't see the "virus", so I checked my Chrome extensions. It was there and I deleted it. But that didn't solve it.
2) That was yesterday, and today I had what I now know is Adware. Something called Re-markit. So after a few hours, I finally saw it in my C: drive and tried to delete it. But it said it can't delete it because it is open in Re-markit. Basically its opened in itself. I ran a full Windows Defender scan before realizing this, is it possible its opened in there?
