In the last week I started noticing my laptop getting the BSOD. It wasn't too often at first and now it seems to be every time a torrent is currently downloading.  I searched the web to see a few causes and could not get it resolved ( all I did was uninstall Daemon Tools and disable IPV6).

I am attaching the mindump from BlueScreenView , the results from minitoolbox, and speccy.

Any other info or logs needed please let me know and Ill have it uploaded asap.

Here is an upload of the minidump folder itself as well.

Hi

As a first step please try switching the torrent client. I would suggest Bitlord at least as a test.

Uninstall "utorrent" and download "Bitlord" from http://www.bitlord.com/

If the BSOD continues, please zip and upload the actual crash dump files.

Sure no problem. Will send an update after I test it out.

So far there have been no issues with Bit Lord.

I do notice ADW Cleaner is flagging Bit Lord.

Hi

Bitlord is an open source program. Anyone with programming knowledge can verify it's source code.

Oh I trust Bitlord and the recommendation from you.

I am curious as to why all of a sudden utorrent is causing this.  I have been using it fine for quite some time.  I was hoping to find the conflict and somehow repair it.

Looking through my event log I am getting this before my crashes.

The network adapter with hardware address (mac address of machine) has indicated packet coalescing capability without indicating support for one or more prerequisite receive filter capabilities (IPv4 0x00000000).

I can only guess. Probably it will be a Windows update which braked the compatibility. "utorrent" activates a Windows service named Teredo which is used to link between IPv6 and IPv4. The way "utorrent" is using "teredo" somehow causes Windows networking components to crash.

The only Windows Updates received are definition updates for Windows Defender. ( during and beyond the time frame this started happening)

I will disable terdedo and IPV6 tunneling using the following

netsh interface ipv6 set privacy state=disable
netsh interface ipv6 6to4 set state state=disabled
netsh interface ipv6 isatap set state state=disabled
netsh interface ipv6 set teredo disabled

Hopefully this might be a work around.

netsh interface teredo set state disabled is more than enough to disable "Teredo Tunneling Adapter". You can opt that route if you still need "utorrent".

Does it disable teredo for only IPV6?

And I got this problem past week and today. I couldn't find any fix. But this seems very helpful.

Also, try disabling Windows Update. It may be a possible conflict with utorrent.

net stop wuauserv

sc config wuauserv start= disabled
