Hi,

I have a problem in booting my laptop, it was working fine a month back, my system went in sleep mode, when I tried to awake up it, I did not get the display and then had to do hard shutdown and restarted the system, it was okay, on the nextday suddenly it hangged and I have to do hard boot,

then after when I tried to power on -

1. - indicators, fan, CD drive all are working, not able to see the bios screen,(fully blank, as if dead screen without power)

2. after trying many times of hard boot, I am able to get the bios screen and then it works normally

3. if I do recent restart of the system, it works

4. if I send it to sleep mode and do recent awake up it works

So everytime I have to do hard boot many times to get the system run. it happens on every shutdown

What I did to fix ----

1. I restored to last restore point - no help

2. Did factory restore - no help

3. updated bios - no help

4. reinstalled grafic drivers - no help

5. running updated antivirus - scaned no virus or malware

So I have to leave the system on for every time with display off in 15 mins and keep working for say 3 days, then it hangs or no display(but system running, can see num lock, cap lock etc active, can play auto music from CD). then I have to do the hard booing for many times, then it works.

Pls. help to resolve this

The system, specifications-

Do you have an external monitor you can try? Your computer may have a bad backlight or problem with the inverter. If you have a bright flash light you can shine it on the lcd screen when it is on and see if there is an image there. When it is on but you have no image, take the computer into a dark room: is the backlight on? You should see some light coming through the black screen if the backlight is working. If the backlight is working but you have no image, you may have a lcd or video chipset problem. If the external always works, it would be more likely there is an issue with the lcd panel itself or cable etc.

If I am helping you with a problem and I have not responded within 48 hours please send me a PM.

The external monitor should work when you first turn on the computer. There may be a FN + F1-F12 key combination to switch to external. Have you tried shining a bright light on the built in lcd? You may have a bad backlight or inverter.
